Do you know someone, anyone, who makes you work for their attention? People who only call back or make time for you when they need something from you, or make you feel bad about yourself.
Does this sound familiar?
#1 Stay away from anyone who makes you feel like you’re hard to love.
Loving you is effortless! If there is someone who makes you feel like it’s an effort to be around you or make time for you then it’s time for you to move on. Find someone who makes it look like that loving you is the most effortless thing for them as it truly is.
#2 Stay away from anyone who makes you feel like you’re a burden.
You’re not a burden! If there is someone who makes you feel like you’re a burden and they’re doing you a favor by hanging around you, stop putting up with them. Nobody is lowering their standards by being with you, they are with you because they need you and not the other way round.
#3 Stay away from anyone who makes you feel guilty about anything and everything.
Don’t waste even a minute of your life feeling guilty! Anyone who makes you feel bad about enjoying the little nuances of life, makes you feel low about getting excited over petty things, makes you feel like you need to keep your emotions and tongue in check, stay away. Life is all about having fun and being happy. Nobody has the right to judge you and make you feel guilty about anything.
#4 Stay away from anyone who makes you feel you need to apologize for every other thing they don’t like.
You don’t need to apologize if you don’t feel so! Even though you didn’t do anything wrong there might be someone around you who makes you feel like you should apologize and that too often. You don’t need to be sorry if you’re inquisitive or if you are not aware of the trends or being your natural self.
#5 Stay away from anyone who accuses you of being too childish or someone who is overreacting.
Let your emotions flow! People do tend to show that they are more mature and in control, and while doing so they might put you down or even accuse you by saying that you are immature and overreact in situations. That is their way of showing themselves superior and it has nothing to do with you. What you need to do is to stay away from such people.
#6 Stay away from anyone who makes you feel like you’re unattractive.
You are your kind of beautiful! Is there someone who keeps comparing you with you to others, doesn’t shy away from commenting on your looks or appearance, try to convince you that you would look better if you got a style change or of you lost weight: stay away from such people. Remember you are beautiful and not everyone has that inner eye to see your beauty.
#7 Stay away from anyone who makes you feel like they own you.
You are not a trophy! You belong to yourself and no one else, so stay away from anyone who tries to possess you or who makes you feel low about yourself or doesn’t let you take your own decisions. You do not exist to validate anyone else’s feelings but your own.
#8 Stay away from anyone who makes you disrespect about yourself.
Respect is more important than love! There might be people who disagree with you or your thoughts and then there might be people who make you feel disrespectful about yourself, and there’s a huge difference between the two. Disagreement is valid but disrespect is not.
#9 Stay away from anyone who makes you feel like you’re undeserving.
You totally deserve it! Who is that person to decide whether or not you deserve something? You are worthy of it and you deserve it.
#10 Stay away from anyone who makes you feel like you’re a weakling.
You’re tougher than you think! Tough times don’t last but tough people do and you’re one of them. You know your story better than anyone else and you don’t owe them any explanation about you being a weakling or a tough person. All you need to do is stay away from anyone who makes you feel this way.
Always remember that there is someone out there who would love to get to know the real you and not judge you for being who you are. Love you for being you, without any conditions or any exceptions.
Find that someone who makes it look like loving you is the easiest thing for them to do, because it actually is.
